Galway Art School Launching Art Parties
Our latest offering at Galway Art school are Art Parties. Come and celebrate your occasion with us with your group, and from the session take away a beautiful work of art you created yourself and will have forever to remember the day.
Have a relaxing time in the studio with Colm, and enjoy Susannas home baking at the teabreak. Talk to us about a light lunch option depending on your needs. Book the party with us for a time that suits you and your group. To visit the art party page click here. Watercolour With Active Retirement Headford
Susanna is planning a card making workshop using watercolour with the Active Retirement group in Headford this month. Participants will spend two hours painting with watercolour and ink, as well as doing some printmaking, and will use the papers prepared in this way in making some contemporary cards for all occasions.
Says Susanna:"I am really looking forward to the event. I have been working with kids since we started. It will be great to work with older people and inspire them to be creative. Cards are a fantastic product as well. Handmade cards are very personal. They are also a great money saver once you have learned a few simple skills and are able to make them. With all the financial pressures on households these days older people in particular can do with money saving options." Here are the pictures. Our gorgeous baby daughter Tara was there, too. |
Colm Working With Headford Men's Shed
Colm is working on a six week block of art classes in acrylic painting with the Headford Mens Shed. The class is focussing on drawing and painting with acrylics, and the participants will complete one painting during the six week block.
Monoprinting With Sean Chairde Headford
The Sean Chairde ladies loved this workshop in monoprinting, too. Everyone got do two print runs, with one final print to take home. We placed objects on the inked printing plates such as grasses and leaves, cut out shapes, some string and netting. Then we did the first print run taking the excess ink off the plate. At this stage the objects on the plate were reorganised to give interesting effects for the final print. There was a lot of work in the workshop getting around the group of twenty! Still buzzing from this morning. Here are some pictures to show you.
