Galway Art School for kids

Childrens art classes:


Art and crafts for kids throughout the school year. Our kids art classes do not require any previous skills, the only requirement is enthusiasm! We charge per block of six classes. If you miss the start of a block of six classes, don't worry, you can join in anyway and pay for the remainder of the six.

Every block of six sessions contains one extended project using any of the following techniques typically in different combinations: drawing with different materials, painting with different types of paint, modelling, sculpture, textiles, collage, printmaking, construction. There will also be some seasonal craft activities. Our art lesson plans, matches and in places exceeds the visual art curriculum.

Susanna has full child protection training.

We may offer art summer camps for children. Please check the website closer to the time for updates.

Dear parents,

Art classes for kids are about much more than entertaining your children for a couple of hours. Art classes for children and teenagers can greatly benefit personality development. As a qualified psychotherapist, I am very aware of this when teaching art to children:

- Learning and mastering new artistic skills can add to a childs self confidence and self esteem.
- Expressing themselves through art can help an introverted child to find their own individual voice.
- Art can provide a great sense of meaning.
- Self expression through art can help master stressful life situations, and can help to celebrate the joyful times.
- During art classes children will learn many different life skills such as: goal setting, problem solving, the use of imagination and visualisation, co-operation, patience and self discipline.
- Art classes for kids teach them to use their minds to invent, to create, to change and to challenge by using both their imagination and their observations.

Kids Art Club

 (for kids aged 8 - 12 years)

Childrens art classes run throughout the school year. Classes are organised to complement and exceed the visual art curriculum and will provide a wide range of activities. The focus is on exploration and confidence building while having fun. Join in any time and pay per block of six. No previous experience required. The only requirement is enthusiasm!

Teacher:                              Susanna Lambeck
Time:                 Wednesdays 5.00 to 7.00 p.m.
Materials:                        All materials provided
Cost:                       € 90 euros for a block of 6 
Family discount:  Second child € 85 , third child € 80


Teenage Art Club

(Teenagers 13- 18 years.)

Runs throughout the school year. This class will focus on building and developing art skills. Classes will give students a chance to explore projects and techniques in-depth. Enthusiasm is the only requirement, no previous experience necessary. All art skills can be taught and learned.

Teachers:      Colm Mac Suibhne and Susanna Lambeck
Time:                            Saturdays 10 - 12 a.m.
Materials:                       All materials provided
Cost:           100 Euros for a block of 6 classes.
Family discount: second and third child € 100
